Palm Bay Declares State of Local Emergency After Heavy Rain
Mayor Rob Medina and City Manager Matthew Morton declared a State of Local Emergency in Palm Bay effective 5 p.m. Nov. 2 after heavy rainfall.
The City of Palm Bay is under a State of Local Emergency.
According to the city, Mayor Rob Medina and City Manager Matthew Morton declared the emergency effective Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The city said the declaration was made in response to the recent significant rainfall event and the resulting conditions throughout Palm Bay.
The declaration came the same day the city warned of significant flooding across Palm Bay. In a separate citizen hotline update that night, the city urged residents to stay off the roads until an official all-clear is given, saying many streets remained flooded and unsafe for travel. The city also announced closures for Tuesday, Nov. 3, including City Hall.

On Nov. 3 the city also issued a precautionary boil water notice for part of its water system after a water main break on Port Malabar Boulevard NE. Water service was later restored, but the city said the boil water notice remained in effect at that time.
