The City of Palm Bay is weighing new options for the future of the Palm Bay Aquatic Center and has launched a webpage to keep residents and potential respondents informed as it prepares to seek outside proposals.

According to the city, it is evaluating sustainable options for the facility's future operation and use, with the goal of maintaining and enhancing aquatic recreation for residents and visitors "while minimizing the financial impact to the City."

As part of that effort, the city will host a public presolicitation meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Aquatic Center, 420 Community College Pkwy. SE. The session is meant to give prospective respondents and other interested parties information about the facility, the city's objectives for the solicitation, available facility and operational details, and the procurement process, along with a chance to ask questions before the formal solicitation is issued.

The city plans to release a Request for Proposals (RFP) on Oct. 20, 2026. It will seek proposals from qualified organizations offering cost-effective and sustainable approaches to the operation, management, programming and/or use of the Aquatic Center.

The Aquatic Center is scheduled to close to the public on Nov. 30, 2026, while the city evaluates future operational options.

The new webpage will serve as a central location for important dates, facility background, supporting documents, meeting information and links to official procurement materials. Official solicitation documents will also be available through the city's Bonfire procurement portal.
