The Palm Bay City Council will hold a public hearing on Thursday, Oct. 15, on a proposed ordinance that would clarify how the city reviews conditional use applications.
According to a public notice from the Office of the City Clerk, the hearing on Ordinance 2026-30 is scheduled for 6 p.m. at City Hall, 120 Malabar Road SE. The ordinance would amend Chapter 172, Development Review Procedures, of the city's Land Development Code, specifically the section covering application types, to clarify the review criteria for conditional use applications. Council action at the hearing would be for the purpose of enacting the ordinance.
Residents and other interested parties may attend the meeting and be heard on the proposed ordinance. Draft copies are available for public inspection from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays in the Office of the City Clerk at City Hall.

The notice also advises that anyone who decides to appeal a council decision on the matter will need a record of the proceedings. That person is responsible for making sure a verbatim transcript is made, including the testimony and evidence on which the appeal would be based, under Section 286.0105 of the Florida Statutes.
