Lt. Robert Best Sr. Fire Station Dedication Ceremony

A renaming ceremony was held this morning to formally dedicate and unveil the new signage changing the name of Station 75 to Lieutenant Robert Best Sr. Station. On September 23, 2026, the Melbourne City Council voted to rename Melbourne Fire Station 75 in honor of Lt. Best, a lifelong Melbourne resident who dedicated his life to serving the community and made history as the first African American lieutenant in the Melbourne Fire Department.
