City Celebrates Dedicated Parks and Recreation Employees
There are 124 full and part-time employees in the City of Melbourne's Parks, Recreation and Golf Department who work hard each and every day to provide a wide variety of services and programs to our residents.
Every July, communities across the country celebrate National Park and Recreation Month, recognizing the vital role parks, recreation programs, and public spaces play in supporting health, wellness, and community connection. This year’s theme, “The Power Of…” highlights the power of parks and recreation, play, nature, community, belonging, wellbeing, and the people who make these experiences possible.

But our Parks and Recreation professionals do much more than manage parks, facilities, and recreation centers.
