About Cocoa Beach · City guideBrevard County guide →
Cocoa Beach began as a town in 1925, when local attorney Gus Edwards established it after a bridge opened the barrier island to the mainland, and it became a city in 1957 as the space program grew next door at Cape Canaveral. Today the city covers roughly six miles of Atlantic shoreline, with oceanfront parks such as Alan Shepard Park, Sidney Fischer Park and the county's Lori Wilson Park. Residents and visitors also use the city's 27-hole Cocoa Beach Country Club golf course, aquatic center and skate park.
